Iftar-dinner for women journalists
Iftar is the breaking of the fast at sunset time, by Muslims all over the world, during Ramazan, the holy month of fasting. It is a time to get together with family and friends in a spirit of piety and togetherness.
On Friday, March 7, 2025, APR hosted a unique iftar-dinner, to celebrate the International Women’s Day. This was a first-of-its-kind event, as it was exclusively for female journalists. Twenty-three distinguished female media professionals from both print, digital and broadcast media graced the occasion. The event, hosted by Hareem Deeba, Deputy GM APR and her female colleagues as co-hosts, offered an intimate and exclusive setting where women in media could connect, share experiences, and engage in meaningful conversations.
Celebrating the significant contributions of women in journalism and digital media, the iftar was also APR’s way of expressing its gratitude to the journalists for their support throughout the year.
